CourseCurrent was founded by faculty with decades of teaching in a variety of higher education modalities. We have seen first-hand the positive and negative impacts of technology on the teaching and learning process.

The rapid impact of AI on learning is a challenge for all faculty, and we have created STREAM to provide faculty with content that is current, application-oriented, and resistant to student shortcuts such as purchasing online cases, quizbanks, or generating responses using AI.

We understand the growing list of demands on faculty: research, serving on committees, going to conferences, making your courses accessible, learning about new institutional policies and technologies, completing an ever-growing list of required annual training, and the list goes on. And we haven't even gotten to the core of what we do: Teaching!

We understand the changing nature of the higher education classroom: Teaching today means growing class sizes, increased utilization of AI by students, and decreasing learner attention spans and lack of time and focus required to read, absorb, and reflect on theories and concepts that are foundational to learning in higher education classrooms.

STREAM provides faculty with interactive reading assignments that present accessible content in interactive, multimedia formats that are chunked in short Key Concepts, with Real Work Examples for each Key Concept, and require students to complete Knowledge Checks for each Key Concept before they can move forward in the reading. At the conclusion of the STREAM Interactive chapter, students will submit a custom generated (can't be reproduced) certificate of completion to submit for a grade.

And best of all - adding STREAM Interactives to your classroom is as simple as adding a single hyperlink to your online class page - and then we'll do the work to keep the Key Concepts, Real World Examples, and Knowledge Checks updated and refreshed throughout the year.

We are committed to the impact and value of higher education in the lives of our learners, and will continue to adapt and provide high quality learning tools that encourage student engagement with foundational concepts and applications to enrich their learning and to promote better engagement in the classroom.

Our Faculty Editors serve as primary editors and contributors to a STREAM Interactive textbook title, and they utilize STREAM in their own classrooms.

Our Faculty Asst. Editors also utilize STREAM Interactive titles in their courses and provide continual feedback and work to provide suggestions for new real-world examples, knowledge checks, and key concepts.
